With assistance from the United Way of SE Michigan, Gleaners Food Banks of Southeast Michigan and the Kresge Foundation, our social service team will provide case management and referrals.  Our social service team will increase our reach to 200 households in the North End and continue to provide assistance with applying for government benefits citywide, through out participation in MI Bridge Program as a Navigation Partner.

We will also continue to work for transportation for medical care; emergency housing referral; assistance with job readiness; and family advocacy.  In addition, we will work to provide "Stewardship" of the newly formed Storehouse of Hope Community Land Trust (SOHCLT).  This project is part of a 5 year effort to regain "equity".

Storehouse will build on its relationship and access to North End children and families by increasing our efforts to increase parent and caregiver capacity to address child health issues such as obesity, asthma, and childhood lead by providing information and referrals for care.

Storehouse will initiate a series of skill building workshops for pantry clients including household budgeting and organizing family buying clubs.  And development of a Co Operative Purchasing Club within our Client's Choice Pantry.

Reshaping Detroit

Building community across divides that have existed for decades.  Working together to build a better Detroit for tomorrow.  We have entered into partnership with Souladarity and the Open Book Block Club and the Euclid Street Block Club in expanding our Re-Light the North End  Program for the installation of between 20-30 backyard alley lights.  This program provided $50.00 to each participating house to cover the cost of installation of the light.  Our effort was in part to provide some stipend pay to the members of the community for the installation work.

This Re-Light North End lights will be installed in mid September 2016.
